Current Events
As part of our daily routine, current events relevant to the course will be discussed in class. Each student has been placed in a group that will be assigned a week on a rotation schedule. During a specific week any student assigned to the group may be called on to present their article. Therefore each member of the group must be prepared to present their article on Monday of their assigned week. The articles that are presented to the class must deal with the global business world. The articles must be current and may come from newspapers, magazines, or internet. When sharing an article please consider each of the following points. Marks will be allotted after each of the points below have been considered.
• using good presentation skills (verbal and non-verbal communication skills, tone of voice, eye contact with students
• having a strong knowledge of the article and the issue(s) related to the article
• summarizing its content for the class verbally
• explaining the cause and impact of the article
• initiating discussion, having at least one question prepared for the class to answer/discuss
• utilizing visual aids to enhance your presentation (handout of article for example).
• explaining the relevance of its content to the course by connecting it directly with one of the many terms/ideas/theories studied in class reflecting personally on the issue in one of two forms:
Each presentation will be allocated 8 marks.
